For those of you that downloaded Plants vs. Zombies 2 after its release last week, you were definitely not alone. The app was downloaded over 16 million times according to EA, and this can probably be attributed to its “freemium” nature. According to a press release from the company, PvZ 2 has seen over 25 million hours of gameplay, 4 billion plants planted, and 2 billion zombie waves. To those of you that downloaded the game, EA has said an update with new content is already in the works.
The update that will be incoming, dubbed “Far Future,” is said to contain new content for the freemium title. Nothing more was added on what the content would be, however. If you aren’t sure what I mean when I say freemium, it means that the game is actually free to download, however it is riddled with in-app purchases, hence the “freemium” moniker assigned to the game. If you are interested in downloading the game, you can do so here for free: Plants vs. Zombies 2. I’ve never been a big gamer, but have heard nothing but good about the gameplay from this, however there are plenty of complaints about IAP pricing.
What do you think? Do you like the new game? Have you tried it out? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.
