With Apple’s flagship looking likely to stay the same – in terms of design – it’s understandable that recent leaks and rumors have been surrounding the next generation iPad and the long-rumored budget iPhone. iPad 5 is allegedly coming to market between September and December and is rumored to feature a new design. For the first time it looks like Apple is ready to ditch the thumb-width bezels in favor of a slimmer frame, similar to the iPad mini. Macotakara recently published a video showing what it claims is the rear shell and front panel of the next 9.7″ iPad.
Along with the iPad 5 came another video, showing the same parts, but from a different device. We’ve seen so much of the ‘iPhone 5C’ – Apple’s budget model – that it’s become a familiar device, and it’s easy to get sucked in to thinking that both this and the next iPad are guaranteed to be released. And while that notion isn’t necessarily wrong, there’s always a chance that the parts we’ve seen are fake, or that they’re prototypes that won’t make it to market. That chance gets less likely every time we see a new leak, but it’s there nevertheless.
While the videos are short and don’t show us much we don’t already know, it’s good to see yet another leak confirming the same design and look as the previous images and video we’ve seen.
