5th gen iPad and ‘iPhone 5C’ front and rear panels show up semi-assembled in new videos

iPad 5

With Apple’s flagship looking likely to stay the same – in terms of design – it’s understandable that recent leaks and rumors have been surrounding the next generation iPad and the long-rumored budget iPhone. iPad 5 is allegedly coming to market between September and December and is rumored to feature a new design. For the first time it looks like Apple is ready to ditch the thumb-width bezels in favor of a slimmer frame, similar to the iPad mini. Macotakara recently published a video showing what it claims is the rear shell and front panel of the next 9.7″ iPad.

Along with the iPad 5 came another video, showing the same parts, but from a different device. We’ve seen so much of the ‘iPhone 5C’ – Apple’s budget model – that it’s become a familiar device, and it’s easy to get sucked in to thinking that both this and the next iPad are guaranteed to be released. And while that notion isn’t necessarily wrong, there’s always a chance that the parts we’ve seen are fake, or that they’re prototypes that won’t make it to market. That chance gets less likely every time we see a new leak, but it’s there nevertheless.

While the videos are short and don’t show us much we don’t already know, it’s good to see yet another leak confirming the same design and look as the previous images and video we’ve seen.

Apple doesn’t care nor should they. The next products are just last years models with some software upgrades. Who cares?

@DavidVoros Chips and cameras aren’t software.

We don’t know why they did this..but it’s a fact. Maybe the workers from Foxconn are starting to say ‘It’s enough’…for us it looks like a pressure maneuver at the guys from Cupertino

@DavidVoros  If you don’t like Apple, then why are you here?

  • DavidVoros

I’m waiting for Apple to turn itself around. Maybe with next years iPhone 6 and a larger screen. Fall 2014- the year Apple gets it right.

  • jabombardier

@DavidVoros a larger screen will not be a turn around game. They won’t do it I know for sure. The way there will be a “turnaround” is if within the closed operating system is to make things more customizable. But then again, they do that then everyone will say Android did it first and scream iHate.

How long is the agreement that Apple have Foxconn to assemble its products? I think it is time that apple makes the rest of its products in the states. They already are starting with the new Mac Pro.

@jabombardier I wouldn’t say ‘how long is the agreement’ I think it’s just a matter of ‘sticking’ to a contract, if you can not guarantee that there will be LEAKS, just don’t sign a contract with this company (Foxconn). It’s weird, we have several friends in China that already ordered both an iPhone 5S and 5C!
