Record your screen using xRec, available in the App Store

xrec-1-640x562So you want to record your screen, but either can’t or would prefer not to jailbreak your device. Well, xRec, an application that allows you to do just this, is now available in the App Store. How it has survived this long, I’m not sure. Nonetheless, it is available in the App Store now for $1.99, and from the reviews it does exactly what you’d expect it to do. A lot of them, however, are saying steer clear if you are on iOS 7 already, as it doesn’t appear to work. The reason it is still available could be related to the recent Developer Center intrusion, so it may not be available much longer. mzl.wellbcze.320x480-75

The interface is pretty straight forward, and after you complete a recording you can share it via Messages, Mail, and more. If you want to check this out, you can go do so here: xRec.

What do you think? Are you going to buy this? Wondering how it survived so long? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.

Can’t deal with the uncertainty of whether this will be pulled from the Apple store or not. For most of my school and work type stuff, the iPad app for ‘Collaaj’ just works great. It lets me capture PPT walkthroughs with voice/annotations and cam straight into H264 video! Pretty cool. And I can easily access them anytime from collaaj.com. I don’t need to capture entire iOS screen generally speaking. But if I really need to, I’ve seen great success and consistent results with Reflector + Collaaj. Reflector (thereflectorapp.com) to show my iOS device screen on my PC/Mac and then use Collaaj (http://www.collaaj.com) on PC/Mac to capture video into H264.
