High quality streaming and offline listening added in update to Music Unlimited app from Sony

Screen Shot 2013-07-11 at 4.58.19 PMIf you are a user of Music Unlimited, the music streaming service from Sony, then you are sure to like the new update that was just released for the iOS application. In the new update, which brings the app up to version 1.3.1, you get a few new features that many users have probably been waiting for. Here is the full change log so you can check those out:

What’s New in Version 1.3.1

• Offline playback support
• High Quality audio streaming option
• New “tray style” global menu

Something that the competitors to the service already offered, such as Spotify, high quality streaming and offline playback have now found their way into the iOS application for Music Unlimited. At $5 a month, you can get browser and PS3 streaming for, and for $10 you can get those plus mobile application streaming. On the other hand, you can also $60 a year for the service. If you are interested, you can check out the application here: Music Unlimited. I prefer Spotify to most other streaming services, and pay for Spotify Premium. Its growing collection and easy to navigate desktop and mobile apps are what keep me attached.

What do you think? Do you use this service or a competing one? Or no streaming service at all? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.

The whole offline playing idea is cool. My favorite music streaming site, Torch Music, doesn’t have an app yet so I may look into this. I’m looking for a free option though (because Torch Music is too), does this cost money? I may just wait it out and that’s it.
