Belkin releases Thunderstorm handheld home theater for the iPad 4

Belkin already had a Thunderstorm Handheld Home Theater for iPad 3rd generation (promo video above), but now it has brought that same thing to the iPad 4th generation, plus a few enhancements. This accessory adds large front speakers to your iPad, enhancing the somewhat abysmal sound that the built in speaker produces, and with the new Lightning sporting one, you get 4 sound modes to switch between: music, moving, gaming and conference call. Here is what it has to say about the conference call mode:

The new conference call mode enhances voice frequencies when using Skype’s VoIP calling service. Previously only available through the Thunderstorm app, the Sound Mode button features an audible voiceover that informs users of the sound mode setting.

If you are familiar with Belkin, you will know that it has an app in the App Store named WeMo, that gives you even more control over the Thunderstorm. Currently the device is priced at $199.99, but iDownloadBlog points out that you can get it for $40 cheaper at only $156. If you are interested in picking this up, it is also available through Belkin’s site, and as I mentioned, Amazon. I personally don’t own an iPad 4th generation, and also don’t own the Thunderstorm for iPad 3rd generation, however this does look like a nice accessory, if you’d use it. For $199, my usage wouldn’t justify the price. However, if you can justify it, it certainly looks to be well worth it.

What do you think? Are you going to be getting this? Do you like this sort of accessory? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.
