Plants vs. Zombies is one of the most popular iOS games available. The developer, PopCap, recently announced that its popular game was slated to get a sequel, and Plants vs. Zombies 2 was planned to be released July 18th. Unfortunately for fans, it looks as if they will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on the newest Plants vs. Zombies game.
Plants vs. Zombies 2, originally slated for a July 18th release, will now be released later in the summer. Stay tuned for more details.

According to the official Plants vs. Zombies Twitter account, the game has been delayed until “later in the summer.” Unfortunately, this means that fans counting down the days until July 18th will have to stop counting since there is not an official date either. Below is a description of the new game.
Designed from the ground up as a live service, the ever-expanding universe of Plants vs. Zombies 2 continues the epic struggle of plants defending your brainz against zombies from your backyard through the vast reaches of time, both past and future. New worlds with new levels, plants, zombies and new ways to play will be released on an ongoing basis. Leveraging the touch interface of Apple’s popular mobile devices, Plants vs. Zombies 2 includes all-new touch-screen power-ups that enable players to “break the fourth wall” and interact with zombies directly, as well as via plant defenses.
In case you haven’t played Plants vs. Zombies, the original, it is available for download from the App Store for just $0.99.
While I am not a player of the game, I know many people who are and who were anxiously awaiting the sequel. This is sad news for anyone that was excited about the next version of the game, as they will now have to wait to get their hands on PopCap’s new game.
