Google’s Earth application for iOS has seemed dormant for a while, with nothing major happening in terms of updates for quite some time. That changed today, however, with version 7.1.1. The update brings with it a few different new features, including Street View and a completely revamped interface. Something not noted in the update however, is this update finally brings iPhone 5 support with it. Here is the change log from iTunes:
What’s New in Version 7.1.1
* Google Maps Street View: With Street View, you can explore the world at street level.
* Improved directions/search: Updated directions let you can visualize transit, walk, bike and drive directions in 3D while update search result list will let you browse search results quickly.
* Improved interface: Easily browse and enable different layers through use of new left hand panel
If Google Maps and Apple Maps aren’t your style, then you can use this for your directions just as easy with the new directions for transit, walking, biking, and driving directions. I have never been a big Google Earth user, but will surely be updating to play around with it. The new UI looks quite nice, and, as everyone else always does, the first thing I look for will most likely be my house; as if it doesn’t exist anymore. You can do the same by getting the app here: Google Earth.
What do you think? Like the new UI? Are you still a Google Earth regular user? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.
