Evomail to be re-released as free universal iOS app

Popular G-mail client for iPad Evomail has announced that the email app is to be released universally for iOS tomorrow.

The app has a really cool, minimalist user interface, and works around gestures to navigate. It also has some cool SMS and social media sharing features. The app has proven successful on the iPad, and so a move to the smaller iPhone should prove to be an excellent move.

Not only is Evomail coming to the iPhone, Developer Jonathan George has revealed that the app is to become free. The iPad version is free and available to download now, whilst the iPhone version has been released today, it is yet to make its way to the various App Stores.

Evomail plans to switch to the freemium model, making money by offering users extra features for a small fee. According to TNW, some of the features have never been seen before in email clients, although no specific details have been revealed.

Along with the news of an iPhone release, and the switch to freemium, TNW reports that Evomail will be coming to Android in the next 2 months. Evomail is also to receive IMAP support within 30 days, with support for Yahoo and iCloud email accounts coming soon.

If you haven’t used Evomail, then now is the perfect time to pick up the app. The iPad version is available for free now, and the iPhone version will available in the next few hours!

Thanks for the post Stephen! The iPhone app is actually available today, although it may take just a bit for it to become available in all of the different iTunes stores.

@Dangerdom I did notice the change on the App Store, but like you said it’s not yet available to buy from the App Store.
