If you’ve ever cracked or shattered your screen, you know it can be a pain to get it repaired. It is the safest to go to an Apple store, but up until now, Apple would not replace the screen, but rather give you a refurbished device. Fortunately for customers, they can save some money in having their screen repaired. Apple’s revamped AppleCare is now offering in-store screen replacements for just $149, which is a $70 savings over replacing the entire device. This is all part of the Cupertino company’s goal to redo AppleCare, and according to AppleInsider, the new program will save Apple around $1 billion per year. It is also rumored that Apple will redo the warranty’s pricing structure. The rumored new plan will be sold to a customer, rather than a device, meaning that if one person owned both an iPhone and an iPad, both devices could be covered under one puarchase of AppleCare, rather than having to purchase two separate plans. It seems as if almost all of these changes will help both Apple and its customers save money, which is a good move by the company to save money for themselves, and also increase customer service by keeping their services at a low cost.
What do you think of these changes? Do you like the idea of Apple actually replacing screens, rather than replacing the device? Do you like the new pricing structure? Let us know in the comments!
