It has today emerged that Apple plans to replace its flagship San Francisco Apple Store in Stockton and Ellis with a brand new store in Union Square.
Reports are suggesting that officials are working alongside Apple on plans for the new location, which would bring 50 jobs to the area. Officials are said to looking for “green measures” and “energy efficiencies”, with renderings also showing that the entire facade of the store will be composed of glass, with both floors visible from the street outside. According to Tim Cook, many customers favor stores which have a large amount of space, plans suggest that this new store would be 45% bigger than the current flagship Apple Store in the area.
It is hoped that the venture will become the “Bay Area hub” for all things Apple, shopping and enquiries alike. Apple currently has 3 Apple Stores in San Francisco, as well as a mini store in Best Buy.
