New “Photos of You” feature added in Instagram update

Instagram, the photo sharing service that was bought by Facebook, has now added the ability to “tag” people in photos, and gives you now an aggregation of those photos when you are on your profile (or of someone else on theirs). As you can see in the promotional video above that Instagram released, it is as simple as tagging people by their respective usernames. You also can go to profiles of either yourself or others and see pictures that you or the person who’s profile you are on are tagged in. It’s a great way to just see specific pictures of either yourself or a specific person if you wish to.

Today, we’re excited to introduce Photos of You and bring you a new way to share and discover stories on Instagram. When you upload a photo to Instagram, you’re now able to add people as easily as you add hashtags. Only you can add people to your photos, so you have control over the images you share.

That’s not the only new development though for Instagram today, there’s also a new logo which looks a little different than its predecessor, but not enough to completely look like a rebranding. It’s still the same ol’ Instagram that so many users love. Here is the new logo:

proxyLike I said, new but nothing majorly different. It is a nice looking logo though, keeping in line with what it was previously. The “Photos of You” tab on your profile won’t be visible to other users until May 16th, however. So you have time to clean out anything you don’t wish to have, or add some if there aren’t any yet. If you have yet to join the Instagram bandwagon, you can hop on it here: Instagram.

What do you think? Like the new features? What about the new logo? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.
