Apparently Spotify wants to do a little better with its “music discovery” department. It has just acquired the Swedish company known as “Tunigo”, which makes a music discovery application, according to AllThingsD. The company will reportedly continue on as normal, but eventually all the employees will begin moving to Spotify’s own Stockholm and New York offices where the service will begin being directly integrated into Spotify. However, it is reported that Tunigo will stay separate as its own service, just maybe more integrated with Spotify. One thing that some have noted is that this comes perfectly timed following the release and announcement of Twitter’s #music application and service. It will be interesting to see what Apple comes up with in its heavily rumored “iRadio” service, assuming that ever gets finished.
What do you think? Do you use Tunigo? Wonder how it will be integrated? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.
