After the official announcement of T-Mobile’s merger with MetroPCS, the attention quickly shifted to the iPhone. Since T-Mobile is the most recent carrier in the US to sell the iPhone, many were wondering of MetroPCS would soon carry Apple’s device as well. Unfortunately for Apple fans on MetroPCS, T-Mobile CEO John Legere answered that today: “It’s not imminent.”
While Legere said that it was not a simple “no” answer, he claims that the decision is not entirely up to him, or the heads of MetroPCS, but also involves Apple. He claims that talks have begun between other partners, and the 9 million subscribers that will be switching over to T-Mobile should take it as good news that Legere didn’t immediately shoot down the idea of an iPhone on MetroPCS.
What do you think? Will MetroPCS get the iPhone sometime soon? Or do you think it will take quite a bit of time for the transition to occur between the two companies?
