CW Network is expanding its access for users that are not necessarily cable subscribers.
CW currently has apps on Xbox and other mobile devices that allow users to stream full length episodes for free and without requriing a cable subscription. The only catch is the apps are ad-supported. The company has reached an agreement to bring its app to Apple TV in a similar format. This is a big step for Apple as it looks to add new companies to its list of Apple TV supporters, and it is rumored that the Cupertino company is also close to a deal with cable giant, HBO. Below is the statement from CW Network describing its new Apple TV app.
It’s a dedicated CW app that will work like our Xbox and mobile and tablet apps – no cable authentication required, full episodes of our shows available next day after air, ad-supported.
