One of the biggest talking points online yesterday was Google’s purported takeover of the popular IM client, WhatsApp. According to speculation, WhatsApp was looking for close to $1 billion to secure a deal. A deal which, today, has been debunked by one of the company’s chiefs, Neeraj Arora. The executive spoke to AllThingsD and declined to comment any further than to say that a deal was not being negotiated. I guess that now means that any hopes it would reverse its decision to start charging its users a subscription fee are now completely gone.
