Journey in to a Starbucks store and you’ll more than likely see some little business-card sized pieces of card with a promoted app, book or album on it. The coffee house has partnered with Apple for a while now to offer free iTunes content to anyone visiting its establishments, the only downside was that you had to type in a long code to redeem it. Thankfully, Starbucks has now worked out a deal with Cupertino to offer the promotion through its app.
As reported by CNET:
“This expansion, of adding apps and books, is the reflection of Starbucks and Apple working together to strengthen the relationship for customers,” Starbucks Chief Digital Officer Adam Brotman said. “This is another step in the direction that we’re going to integrate more things into our mobile application.”
The ‘PICK OF THE WEEK’ promotion will be available in the Starbucks app’s inbox from tomorrow, and will be offering Angry Birds Star Wars this week as the chosen free content. If you haven’t got the app already, you can download it for free from the App Store. Search for Starbucks, and you’ll get the right app for your country.
