Rovio bringing “Angry Birds Friends” to iOS

__thumb_-3-angrybirdsfriends-mobile“Angry Birds Friends”, a game popularized via the social network known by many as Facebook, is coming to iOS. Rovio announced today that it will be bringing the game to mobile devices, where you will be able to challenge friends, receive and give gifts, and even post your scores to different social networks. From the announcement:

Angry Birds Friends spruces up the classic Angry Birds experience with fun new social features that integrate with Facebook. For the first time ever the fans of Angry Birds can use their mobile to challenge their Facebook friends in weekly tournaments for the coveted bronze, silver and gold crown on the levels. Gather daily rewards, send and receive gifts of power-ups with your friends and brag about your accomplishments.

So if you are into social gaming, and into Angry Birds, you are sure to like this double edged sword. The game links to your Facebook profile and from there you can challenge any of your friends that already have the game, or send them an invite to join it. Sounds like your average “social” game you’d find in the App Store, but Angry Birds style.
