Another day, another piece of the puzzle for the AppGratis application being pulled from the App Store. Yesterday we heard that the reason for this was that it apparently had some issues with its push notification service and the way it presented applications in its service. Well today the CEO weighed in with a post on the AppGratis blog, saying that it is a “crazy situation” to deal with, and that it is “still stunned that Apple took the decision to destroy so much value within their own ecosystem.” The post is very long, and includes detailed thoughts about the different “violations” that the app was accused of. An interesting bit of the post comes in the next screenshot:
As you can see, the status of AppGratis HD (the iPad version of the application) had an update approved a mere 5 days ago. But now, the app is pulled. Only days after an update was approved! That to me seems a little insane. If there are any fellow developers out there, than you will now the stress of awaiting to see if your app gets through Apple’s review process or not. How would you feel if the app you uploaded was approved and than pulled a day or two later? I would be fairly annoyed. Go check out the entire post here, it is definitely worth the read: AppGratis Blog.
What do you think? Still wonder why Apple pulled the app? Do you still use it? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.
