Budget iPhone concept, inspired by original translucent iMac G3 [Gallery]

Rumors surrounding the release of a budget iPhone in the near future has prompted the creation of some rather audacious mockups.

Created by Nickolay Lamm and Matteo Gianni, the concept is very reminiscent of the original iMac G3, which rocked the fantastic translucent design. Rather than use metal and glass, the body is instead made of bright plastic. Apart from the exterior casing, everything else on the device appears to remain unchanged, and I must say, I’m rather intrigued. There’s a range of colours, including dark blue, charcoal, green, red and orange. The makeup of the plastic shell also means that a lot of the internal parts of the iPhone remain on display, which I also think is an incredible feature.

Those look beautiful. I would buy any of them over the full-featured “5S.”

Totally agree with Ryan – this looks amazing and I would buy it.

TiP_Cam think there will be a budget iphone?

  • TiP_Cam

I’m with you guys. I don’t care if this has the stigma of being the “budget” model. It looks fantastic. It’s sad that it’ll probably never become a real device.

    TodaysiPhone this would be awesome!

Seriously, I love my Nokia Lumia. For some reason the iPhone never really grabbed my attention. But if this ever become a real product, I will buy it on the release day. You know, those huge lines of people sleeping in front of the store? I will be one of them. This is so stunning!

Looks like a modern iPhone 3GS.
