Belkin’s Thunderbolt Express dock is possibly one of the most eagerly anticipated products of the past year or so. First announced around 18 months ago, the Thunderbolt Express connects to your Mac/MacBook’s Thunderbolt connection and allows you to connect up to 8 different output ports, including the option to daisy-chain up to 5 different Thunderbolt devices at once.
So if – like me – you use a MacBook as your main computing device, and would love to be able to hook it up to a plethora of other devices without taking up all your available output connections, this really is ideal. It looks stunning, and features Ethernet, Firewire, Thuderbolt, 3.5mm jack and three USB 3.0 outputs, as well as a 3.5mm microphone input. What else could you possibly need? And, since it makes use of Thunderbolt, it transfers data between devices ridiculously quickly.
The cost of the Thunderbolt Express dock? A healthy $299 in the US. If you’re already sold, and haven’t already pre-ordered one, head on over to the Belkin store product page. RRP in the UK is £249, but sadly it’s not available to purchase on Belkin.com right now.
