Apple TV Wi-Fi Problems? There’s A Replacement Program For That…

If you have a 3rd generation Apple TV experiencing connection issues, you’ll be glad to know that Apple has kicked off a replacement program to swap out those with issues for fault-free devices.

The specific issue was one whereby the Apple TV either would connect via Wi-Fi, or couldn’t maintain a stable connection. It’s not affecting everyone, but for the small number affected, you can swap your set-top box for a new one.

If your Apple TV is still within 2 years from the day you purchased it and is showing the problems mentioned above, you can take it in to an Apple Store, an authorized reseller or contact AppleCare to get it exchanged. It also has to be within a specific serial number range, as shown in the leak obtained by 9to5Mac below:

Check your Apple TV to see if it matches these details. If it does, you should be able to get your unit replaced.
