The day after Apple announces how many iPhones it has sold, AT&T has some more information for us. According to the big blue carrier, AT&T has activated 4.8 million iPhones in the last quarter, making up a crazy 80% of its total 6 million smartphone activations. This in comparison to Verizon was more iPhones, but less total smartphones. Verizon only had around 4 million iPhone activations but 7.2 million total smartphone activations.
These numbers indicate a drop from the previous quarter which saw 8 million iPhone activations, but you have to remember that the previous quarter was holiday season. If you’re wondering about 3rd place Sprint, it saw 1.5 million iPhones go through its stores. Add that all up and the top 3 US carriers accounted for 10.3 million of the total 35.1 million devices that Apple reported on yesterday.
What do you think? Is Apple really struggling? Or do these numbers prove otherwise? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.
