Could Twitter be releasing a new iOS app aimed at music discovery? That’s what rumors are pointing to. According to the report from CNET, Twitter could be launching an application *this week* aimed at helping users discover music through looking at people they follow. The report points towards Twitter’s purchase of *We are Hunted*, a music discovery service that puts Twitter in a perfect position to launch this sort of service. This, unlike Twitter’s Vine app, would carry the Twitter branding.
> Twitter Music uses four main tabs. ‘Suggested’ recommends songs and artists based on a user’s follower graph — artists they are following, and artists that other people they follow are following. #NowPlaying brings in links to songs tweeted by people you follow who tweet using that hashtag.
Music discovery is mostly dominated by the likes of Shazam, Pandora, Spotify, and SoundHound right now, but with Twitter’s name, it could have a good shot at making a dent, especially since it would be able to offer a great social networking aspect. I’m sure many that don’t know of Shazam and SoundHound would use it as they would know the Twitter name. Time will tell.
What do you think? Would you use the service? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me [@TiP_Kyle.](http://www.twitter.com/TiP_Kyle)
