Siri is a pretty cool digital assistant, but it’s no secret that she could be doing much, much more. Well, today a video surfaced of Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak explaining how he would like Siri to work. Basically, the Woz would like Apple to release a Siri API for developers that would work a lot like AppleScript does on Macs. More specifically, I would be able to say “Foursquare” to Siri, and then everything I say after that would be interpreted with the dictionary that is specific to the Foursquare application.
This system of routing Siri through different application to complete tasks could theoretically be built into every app on the iPhone, exponentially improving Siri’s functionality. How cool would it be to be able to say “Shazam: tag this song”? Let’s hope someone can make this happen!
