Rare photos emerge of Steve Jobs’ 1996 Apple return

Some rare photos have emerged depicting Steve Job’s famed return to Apple in 1996.

The photos were taken by Tim Holmes on an Apple QuickTake camera and were recently posted to Flickr. In the description of the Album Holmes writes:

Working late on a Friday on December 20th at Apple Computer as Mac OS Evangelist, my manager came rushing past my office door saying to come with him to Town Hall, Apple’s theater for announcements, company meetings and the like. It was clearly not a company meeting…

I called Mitch, my wife who also worked there at the time, and told her meet me there. We had no idea what was about to happen…

I tend to take a camera everywhere, so I had my Apple QuickTake camera, which Steve Jobs killed within the year…

Camera’s were so off back in the day, that Steve Jobs’ jacket, shown above, was actually black in real life, no wonder Jobs axed it so quickly.

These photos capture a momentous piece of history within the world of technology and enterprising, and you can view the full gallery here.

December 20, 1996, I wasn’t even two-years old, can you remember what you were doing on this day? Leave your comments below, and be sure to follow me on Twitter @TiP_Stephen
