iBooks hits 130 million downloads, Apple announces Japanese publishers


As you may have noticed, earlier today Apple updated its iBooks app to include improved support for Asian languages as well as introduce a Japan iBookstore. Tonight, Apple has released a little more information regarding its iBooks app.

Apple announced that its iBooks app has been downloaded an astonishing 130 million times. The app launched about three years ago, and is available on all iOS devices in the App Store. Along with download numbers, Apple also confirmed a number of book publishers in Japan that have agreed to work with Apple and its new Japan iBookstore. Some of the larger publishers in Japan include Bungeishunju, Gakken, Gentosha, KADOKAWA, and Kodansha.
