Talkbits launches for US and UK

A social networking application that uses short voice notes to communicate and connect has just been released for the US and UK, dubbed “Talkbits.” The company, which originates in Russia, “like open voicemail for the Internet,” as The Verge put it. All the messages you send via the application are geotagged, so you can find people near you, and you can participate in just one-on-one chats or group ones. Here are the “Key Features” as highlighted in iTunes:

Key features:
★ Live public audio streams and voice messages
★ Cross Platform Push-to-talk (PTT) instant walkie-talkie messenger
★ Sending public voice records to geotagged channels
★ Private chats
★ Group chats
★ Conversation history
★ Facebook contacts Integration
★ Works over EDGE/3G/4G or Wi-Fi
★ Absolutely FREE and NO Advertising

As you see, it has all sorts of great features, especially by letting users tap into their (sometimes) extensive lists of Facebook friends. A feature that many will also appreciate is the ability to use this over cellular data, and also comes in with a price tag of, well, free. If you are interested, you can check out the app here: Talkbits.

What do you think? Interested in the service? Are you going to use it? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.

When I went to London, I had downloaded Talkbit. I found lots of public channels and when I needed something to know, I just asked people there and it had helped me a lot. Ahh yes, superb quality….it is highly recommended.
