ProCutX released, acts as a Final Cut Pro X controller for iPad

A brand new app from Pixel Film Studios has just been released, and it looks pretty darn awesome. If you do any heavy duty video work on Final Cut Pro X, then this could be the best iPad app you ever download. The application is named ProCutX, and is aimed at the high end of the video-making field, replicating the sort of console more commonly seen in professional studios.

It’s release notes read:

“This application gives users control over all the FCPX editing tools in one clean interface, eliminating the need for clicking and searching through the Final Cut Pro X menus.

From import to export, ProCutX can control every step of the FCPX editing process.”

The app certainly delivers a sleek interface, while still giving you everything you’d expect from a professional Final Cut portal, including precision timeline scrubbing using the prominent center wheel, quick retiming, color grading and auto-correct.

Now, if you’re looking at the screenshot above thinking, ‘what the hell do all those buttons do?’, then needn’t you worry, as the application really isn’t aimed at you. If you, however, start drooling at the mouth at the potential of this software, then prepare to hand over the $25 asking price here.
