A new report out today has some information that, quite frankly, shouldn’t be surprising. According to Gartner, over half of all mobile device sold in 2012 were shipped by Apple and Samsung combined. Taking 52% of mobile device, both the companies saw rises in market share year-over-year. In terms of total mobile phone sales, Samsung took the top spot, and Apple the third. Total sales drop however by 1.7%, with a random assortment of device manufacturers gaining or losing market share. Nokia is who took the 2nd spot on the list, however it lost share in 2012. These two companies just continue to thrive and take over the market, and it doesn’t look like a clear end in sight.
