iPad minis given out to LinkedIn employees

iPad mini

Jeff Weiner is in a gift giving mood apparently. Today, each of LinkedIn’s 3,500 employees was given an iPad mini courtesy of the company. Sources say that Weiner decided to give his employees the 32GB iPad mini, which cost about $430 each. This move and generosity by Weiner cost his company a reported $1.5 million to acquire all of these iPad minis. The company said, in a statement, that the minature tablets were handed out to reward each and every employee “for their contributions” to LinkedIn.

Do you think this was a good move by LinkedIn to keep its employees happy or was this simply a waste of money?
