According to analytics firm Chitika Insights, iOS 6.1 is dominating iOS web traffic. As of February, 83.1% of all the iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches accessing the web are running iOS 6. If you remember, iOS 6 came out only five months ago, so these are some pretty insane numbers. Possibly more impressive, though, is the fact that iOS 6.1 was released just two weeks ago (and iOS 6.1.1 hit the web a mere two days ago) and it already claims 52.4% of iOS web traffic!
The rate at which new Apple software is adopted lies in sharp contrast to Android’s severe fragmentation problem, and it’s one of the reasons why I’ll never leave Apple’s ecosystem for Google’s. Do you agree? Have you even upgraded to iOS 6.1 yet? Sound off in the comments section below!
