Just recently, by recommendation of Cam, I began using Spotify Premium. The main reason I decided to make the plunge was for the mobile streaming, as I have a custom set of speakers in my car that I will usually plug my phone up to while driving so I don’t have to listen to annoying commercials. For $9.99/month, you get unlimited streaming, no ads, and offline listening (a great and oft overlooked feature, in my opinion). Well, according to The Verge, Spotify is set to meet with the content providers to discuss the possibility of bringing the free streaming service to mobile.
Now, it’d most definitely still include ads, but the idea is still great, as the competition of Spotify (or at least the most notable) is iTunes, which allows you to buy music song-by-song and use it on any of your devices that are authorized (up to 5 computers). This idea sounds promising, and iDownloadBlog reminds us that this could be the companies response to the rumored iTunes radio service that is rumored to launch sometime in the not-so-distant future. Time will tell, so keep it locked here for any developments.
What do you think? Interested in if this will come true? Would you use it? Let us know int he comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.
