This is some unfortunate news. According to a developer on the evad3rs team, the developers of the evasi0n jailbreak, the software does not work with iOS 6.1.3. David Wang has confirmed to Forbes that one of the multiple exploits used in the jailbreak is fixed in the 2nd beta of iOS 6.1.3, and with one broken, it doesn’t work at all:
If one of the vulnerabilities doesn’t work, evasi0n doesn’t work. We could replace that part with a different vulnerability, but [Apple] will probably fix most if not all of the bugs we’ve used when 6.1.3 comes out.
According to the developers, however, there are enough bugs still under wraps where the team could make a new jailbreak from scratch. It is unknown yet though if any of those bugs that they hoped would be kept in secrecy have been fixed by Apple as well. If so, he said that they would “start from scratch.” I’m personally hoping that the team can hold on to a few valuable exploits for when iOS 7 is eventually released, but I guess we will have to wait and see.
What do you think? Hoping that they can put something together? Are you waiting on the current version until you can rejailbreak? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.
