Walmart to sell Straight Talk prepaid iPhone 4 and 5

For those of you who hate contracts, we have some good news for you! Walmart announced today that it will start selling a no-contract version of the iPhone 4 and 5 through the Straight Talk prepaid wireless network. Walmart will only offer the 8GB version of the iPhone 4, and the 16GB version of the iPhone 5.

Walmart senior vice president of entertainment, Seong Ohm, said “Now customers can have the coveted iPhone with unlimited talk, text and data without a contract for $70 a month thanks to our exclusive Straight Talk plan and industry first financing offer.” The iPhones will be available with the Straight Talk $45 unlimited plan.

The iPhone 4 and 5 will cost $449 and $649 respectively. Walmart will begin selling the iPhones on Straight Talk this Friday both online and at over 2,000 Walmart locations nationwide.

@Jcpullser Yes. The plans can be purchased by themselves. Keep in mind though that they run off the Tmobile network which essentially will run your phone on edge (for now). Tmo is upgrading its network.

@Jcpullser sorry, i missspoke. ST runs off the ATT network, not Tmobile.

@Bratty, actually, from my understanding the Straight Talk versions of the iphones will not use either At&t or T mobile but will use the Verizon network. And this is coming from a someone I know who works for the company. I still find it pretty Awesome that they are carrying both versions of the iphone. While I am not a big iphone fan, this is good for anyone who wants the phone without having to pay a huge bill every month to use it.
