Two new Apple patents published, shows an interesting future for iOS devices

A couple of awesome new Apple patent applications have just been published by the US Patent and Trademark Office. The applications show some interesting ideas to have come out of Apple’s Cupertino heart, and give us an amazing look at the future of smartphone technology.

The first patent has been conceptualized by many graphic experts in the past, but it seems that testing of such technology is going on behind closed doors. According to PatentlyApple the technology in question has the possible implication of a laser keyboard, showing that Apple may want to go down the sci-fi fantasy path in the future. Of course, most of the patents we see from Apple – or any company for that matter – never find their way into a real product, but I doubt I’m alone when I say that I’d love this feature built into an iPad, though whether it would be worth having simply as a gimmick, I’m not sure.

PatentlyApple has created the image below to show how Apple could harness this technology:

Another patent that has been discovered concerns the use of an “ad-hoc cash dispensing network”, that essentially creates portable ATMs out of iPhone users. The idea is very odd, and I’d be lying if I said that I’m not a little apprehensive about it. The proposition is that nearby iOS users can lend you money when there isn’t an available ATM in the area, then the lender will be repaid via iTunes, with a small fee taken from the borrower (pictured below from Unwiredview).

This is such old news seeing as numerous companies in different arenas and for different product applications have done or been developing this type of keyboard for a while now. Not everything comes from the minds of Apple, believe it or not.
