Sprint to offer insurance for iPhones starting January 25th

If you’re a Sprint iPhone user, we have some good news for you. After deciding to not offer it’s Total Equipment coverage for device damage for the iPhone initially, Sprint has had a change of heart. Sprint is allowing iPhone users to buy their Total Equipment Protection (TEP) plan for up to 30 days after the device is purchased starting on January 25th. The plan will cost $11 per month, however, deductibles with Sprint’s TEP will set users back $150-$200. This is in stark contrast with Apple’s own AppleCare which just costs a one time fee up front. If you’d prefer to get insurance for your device through your carrier instead though, Sprint iPhone users will have another option starting later this month.

Is this something that any of you would be interested in? Would you prefer AppleCare instead? Do you even bother with purchasing phone insurance? We’d love to hear from you in the comments.
