For any Apple TV users out there, Bloomberg is reporting that there will be more content coming to your device soon assuming you’re an HBO subscriber.

Bloomberg has reported that HBO and Apple have reached a deal that will bring HBO GO content to Apple’s set-top device within the first half of this year.

According to the Bloomberg article:

“Cable and satellite subscribers who pay for HBO will be able to watch more than 600 hours of films and television shows on Apple TV, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the talks are private. Apple TV is a set-top device that streams content purchased on iTunes and via other online services to consumers’ televisions.”

Bloomberg also notes that Apple is hoping the addition of HBO content will be a way to increase sales of the device and make it more useful than other Apple TV competitors.

Will the addition of HBO content persuade you to invest in an Apple TV? Let us know in the comments.

My AppleTV is my path to “cut the cord” so it doesn’t help me if I have to be a cable subscriber. I’d prefer the ABC and NBC apps on my iPad to be on my Apple TV

When you can subscribe to hbogo without having it on cable, then I’d get an Apple TV. The real issue isn’t the hardware, it’s hbo’s inability to make its content subscribeable outside of the cable/ satellite realm. Be like Netflix, charge me $9 a month and you’ve got tons of new subscribers!
