Free Calling now rolling out in Facebook’s Messenger for iPhone in U.S.

Big news coming in the form of Facebook Messenger today. The social network’s “Facebook Messenger” application for iPhone is now supporting free calls in the U.S. As you can see in the image above, under the user’s name there is a “Free Call” button that, when pressed, does exactly what you would expect for it to do, and calls them. This feature, as I mentioned earlier, is now available in the U.S. (and Canada I think?), so those of you outside will just have to wait. I can tell you from just testing it out, these calls are crystal clear. Every now and then you would hear a slight jump in the voices, possibly due to the data connection, but other than that the call was clearer than a regular phone call, from first impressions. If you want to try this out, download the application, start a chat with a friend and click the “i” in the top corner, from there you can easily call them.

What do you think? Think Facebook does too much now? Are you going to use this? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.
