AT&T users, some more of you are about to get FaceTime over Cellular capabilities. It is now opening up the feature to all tiered data plans. It will be available on all compatible FaceTime over Cellular devices, including the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad, and the most recent addition, the iPad mini. However, just as before, those of you holding tight to your precious grandfathered unlimited data plans will be unable to access the feature. Verizon took a different approach to FaceTime, simply allowing all devices to use it if it was capable, just as Apple wanted them to. For instance, I can use FaceTime on Verizon with my grandfathered unlimited plan. AT&T just likes to be difficult, I guess.
What do you think? Are you on AT&T and benefit? Wish it’d allow unlimited data users? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.
