CES 2013: The laser keyboard comes to life in the Celluon Magic Cube

We’ve all heard of and imagined what it would be like to have a laser keyboard. There would be just this little device that projects a keyboard onto the desk in front of it, and would sense whenever you went to type on it. There are things that can do this now, but it is being brought mainstream. Celluon has created the Magic Cube that does exactly what you expect, creates a laser keyboard on the desk in front of it (video above). Seth Weintraud, of the 9to5 networks, had this to say about his initial impressions of using the device at CES:

…it just works. I only mis-typed one character out of about 100 words typed and it felt like I could really get used to this type of system. That’s something I never thought possible before this initial try.

Sounds like it does a pretty good job, and I am really interested in getting one to try out. Best part? It is available for order now over on Celluon’s website. Selling for $149.99, this device works with anything that supports Bluetooth HID, which includes Macs and iOS devices. If you are interested, head on down to the source link to order one. I’m surely considering it.

What do you think? Interested in this technology? Are you going to order one? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.
