Any of you who have followed me for any length of time will know that I love three things: iOS, Star Wars and LEGO. Perhaps my LEGO iPhone 5 dock assembly and Angry Birds Star Wars review gave as much away. Regardless, courtesy of MacRumors, I may have discovered the coolest toy to be unveiled at CES 2013 so far. The LEGO Mindstorms EV3 is the famous brick makers attempt at invading the robot market with its own do-it-yourself boxed kits.
The Mindstorms system is actually powered by some smart tech. The EV3 Intelligent Brick (the main brain of the toy) hosts an ARM9 processor, 16MB flash memory and 64GB of RAM. Even better: it can be controlled by any iOS or Android devices right out of the box. So, how much does this advanced LEGO cost? It’s not cheap, that’s for sure. In fact, it costs more than the LEGO Death Star. It will be available this coming summer for a cool $350.
