Sprint customers have something to be happy about today. Well, if you live in one of a select 28 cities, that is. A press release from Sprint just announced 28 new cities that are getting lit up with LTE, but some of them seem to be random places, and aren’t large areas. Not to say that they aren’t important, I would just expect the larger metro areas to be lit up around the nation first. But hey, those of you lucky enough to get randomly chosen, have fun on LTE! The following cities are the ones receiving LTE:
Albany, GA, Anderson, SC, Bay City, MI, Branson, MO, Bremerton/Silverdale, WA, Columbus, GA, Columbus, MS, Decatur, AL, Florence/Muscle Shoals, AL, Gadsden, AL, Gaffney, SC, Gettysburg, PA, Glasgow, KY, Homosassa Springs, FL, Hot Springs, AR, Lake City, FL, Lake Havasu City/Kingman, AZ, Midland, MI, Nacogdoches, TX, Opelousas/Eunice, LA, Oxford, MS, Paris, TX, Pittsfield, MA, Saginaw, MI, Spartanburg, SC, The Villages, FL, Waycross, GA, and Winona, MN.
Sprint is playing catch up alongside AT&T and T-Mobile. Verizon is by far the largest LTE provider in the US, which promises to have its entire 3G footprint covered by LTE by mid-2013.
What do you think? Are you covered by Sprint’s LTE? How is it? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.
