Samsung hits Apple with Notification Center patent infringement suit in Korea
The global war between Apple and Samsung is nowhere near over, sadly, despite the case in the States being close to its conclusion. News has emerged today that the Korean Tech giant is suing Apple in its home nation of South Korea over Notification Center. There’s not a lot known about which exact patent Sammy is suing Cupertino for. Since the drop-down menu isn’t a Samsung design, it’s more than likely that the patent in question is something involving the way a user interacts with particular elements within it. We’ll keep our eyes on this and report back when we know exactly what Samsung is suing Apple for. Speculation is – however – that it isn’t a standards essential patent which means that a licensing fee is not applicable in this situation.
