Foxconn looking to expand to the US – further evidence to support Cook’s claims of moving Stateside

We’ve already heard earlier today about Apple’s plans to start building its Macs inside the US borders. It’s great news for employment in the States and for economic growth too. To further add to this, Foxconn has also announced plans to open plants in the States. As we all know, Foxconn is Apple’s chief product assembly partner. With this move it would see Foxconn plants in China, Brazil and the USA all putting together Apple devices.

On the subject of expansion, Luis Woo (a spokesperson for Foxconn) stated: “We’re looking at doing more manufacturing in the U.S. because, in general, customers want more to be done there.” Translated: Apple wants us to build more of its devices closer to home, so we’re going. We’ll keep you updated as we hear more on this, but, it’s certainly looking as though Cupertino is spearheading a major effort to bring manufacturing back to America.
