Apple’s low availability of the iPhone 5, and late launch of December 14th, may be showing in China. According to IDC estimates, Apple has fallen to 6th in smartphone market share. Many things could be to blame for this, including the usual lower sales before a new iPhone launch. The iPhone 5 was launched in September and won’t get to China until December 14th. So with a new device already announced and on the way, why would anyone be buying the old one? Exactly. This might not change much in the fourth quarter even with the release, but the first quarter of next year may show some shifts.
What do you think? Interested in how Android has taken over China? Is it because they (Android phones) are cheaper? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.
