App Watch: Snapseed goes free, Wunderlist 2 on its way, Modern Combat 4 and Cobook launched

It’s coming up to the developers’ deadline to submit apps for review before the holiday shutdown period, which explains why so many new and updated apps are being released on the App Store this week. Today in particular has been very busy. We’ve already seen launches of GTA: Vice City and Twitterrific 5, there are 4 other new programs worth noting.

1. Snapseed – Now Free (was $4.99/£2.99)

Snapseed is one of the best photo editing programs available for iPhone and iPad, and is by far my personal favorite. The latest edition adds Google+ support, a few new filters and a new user interface. To top it off, it’s dropped its premium price and is now completely free to download.

2. Wunderlist 2 – FREE (coming soon)

One yet to be released: Wunderlist 2 is the latest version of the cross-platform, cloud-based t0-do list. It doesn’t matter if you use Mac, PC, Android or iOS, you can get up-to-date access to your list all the time. You can now log in using Facebook too.

3. Modern Combat 4 – $6.99/£4.99

“Console quality” graphics in a universal download. This FPS is the dog’s bits. You only need to see the trailer to gather that. It’s got a redesigned multiplayer mode, 20,000 weapon arrangements and you can play as the villain. All-in-all, it promises to be incredible.

4. Cobook – FREE

If you’re really in to social networks, and you’re frustrated with the default Contacts app’s lack of integration and outdated UI, this ultra-modern and ultra-connected alternative should suit you down to the ground. It’s out now, and it’s free.
