Verizon’s LTE network to be complete by mid-2013

Verizon’s chief financial officer, Fran Shammo stated today that his carrier’s LTE network rollout is way ahead of schedule and could cover 300 million U.S. residents by the middle of next year. Almost 6 months quicker than had originally been anticipated. Right now, the network covers 250 million people compared to AT&T’s 150 million. It’s never been in doubt that “Big Red” is a long way ahead of its nearest rival when it comes to 4th generation network coverage. In comparison, AT&T’s won’t cover 300 million until the end of 2013, while Sprint and Tmo are both some way off the leading pair. Looks like the LTE iPhone 5 was launched just in time.

Sneaky, when I looked at the map I just assumed that the red area was the LTE coverage. Their LTE will not be complete until then.
