With Apple expected to sell 1 – 1.5 million iPad minis this past weekend, it’s hardly surprising that they’ve already sold out at Apple retail stores nationwide. With shipping delays now pushing the two-week mark when ordering online, there may still be a way to get you your mini long before then. Apple’s website now conveniently allows you to place an order after 10pm – 4am through their online store or mobile app, add it to the cart, look at stores stock levels and allow you to pick it up the next morning or whenever inventory will allow. Voila, instant iPad mini ordering.
This Personal Pickup program is the same method Apple conveniently initiated with the iPhone 5 allowing customers to buy a device through Apple’s website or mobile app and pick it up the next day, or when inventory was available.
This sounds a lot easier than the “call every store within a 50 mile radius 5 time a day” method I’ve used lately.
