When the iPad first launched in 2010, one of the first apps to make the headlines was Flipboard. It was among the first to transform our news/twitter/facebook feeds in to a gorgeous magazine. The free app has developed and become much better thanks to the launch of the Retina-equipped iPhones and iPads since. If you’re a fan – like me – you’ll be glad to know that the most recent update has made it optimized for the slightly smaller 7.9-inch display of the iPad mini.
The company’s blog reads:
“The mini brings an exciting new form factor that has everything you love about Flipboard for iPad—just in a smaller package. You can flip through everything from breaking news around the world to beautiful photography and updates from friends, then slide it in your purse or back pocket. Flipboard’s layouts and typography have been re-factored for the mini to make it easy to enjoy your Flipboard on the new smaller screen.”
To be sure you’re ready, get the update now, either by updating through the App Store on your iPad, or through iTunes. The app, as always, is free and is compatible with iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S and 5 as well as 3rd, 4th and 5th gen iPod touch and the iPad – of course. It requires iOS 4.2 or later to work.
