Fantastical for iPhone finally lands on the App Store – looks incredible

I wouldn’t have heard of this app unless David, our Network Director, hadn’t been going on about it for the past few days. Seriously, he’s been counting down the days as if it was Christmas. Back on topic: Fantastical is one of the most popular calendar apps available for Mac and it’s now crossed the OS divide to land on iPhone. It’s gained serious praise for its simplicity. It’s so easy to add events and appointments that I might actually start using a calendar now.

The app allows you to type in or speak your events using dictation (if you have a compatible iPhone or 5th gen iPod touch). Natural language is reportedly fantastic, as you shouldn’t need to change your regular speech for it to understand your requests, providing your in one of the countries with a supported language. Not only that, but the user interface is so fluid and intuitive, you’ll wonder why other calendar apps haven’t taken the same approach. If you’re still not convinced, head on over to the developer’s blog to check out the promotional video. If that doesn’t convince you to cough up your $1.99 (£1.49 UK), nothing will.

There are no reminders for this calendar. Seems like the stock app is better… And $1.99 for a calendar with no reminders is just ludicrous.
